Actor Tyriq Withers, who has a line-up of some much-anticipated films like I Know What You Did Last Summer sequel and Him, has been cast alongside Maika Monroe in Colleen Hoover's upcoming film adaptation of Reminders of Him, directed by Vanessa Caswill.
Reminders of Him, which features a screenplay written by the author along with Lauren Levine, follows Kenna Rowan, who returns to town after a five-year prison stint, hoping to reunite with her four-year-old daughter. But the bridges Kenna burned are proving impossible to rebuild. Everyone in her daughter’s life is determined to shut Kenna out. The only person who hasn’t closed the door on her completely is Ledger Ward, a local bar owner and one of the few remaining links to Kenna’s daughter.
The book, which has sold 6.5 million copies globally, and has been translated into 45 languages, is said to be a "transformative feature about motherhood, forgiveness, and the power of one love to heal even the most shattered heart."
Apart from penning the screenplay, Hoover and Levine will be producing through their Heartbones Entertainment. Also producing is Little Engine Productions' Gine Matthews. Robin Fischella will serve as an executive producer. Apart from Reminders of Him, Hoover's Verity and Regretting You are also being adapted into feature films.
Withers is currently awaiting the release of psychological horror feature Him produced by Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions. It hits theatres on September 19. I Know What You Did Last Summer sequel releases in July 18.
