Brad Pitt's production banner Plan B Entertainment is in negotiations with Adolescence director Philip Barantini regarding the next chapter of the series, the organisation's presidents Jeremy Kleiner and Dede Gardner revealed in a conversation with Deadline. The Netflix series, consisting of four episodes, follows a teenager (Owen Cooper) accused of killing his classmate. It sparked plenty of discourse about masculinity, the manosphere culture, psychoanalysis, and the importance of parenting. The performances from Cooper, Stephen Graham, Erin Doherty, and Christine Tremarco earned positive reviews, as did the single-shot technique and the fragmented storytelling approach.
Gardner stated that the team that developed Adolescence is thinking about ways of widening "the aperture" of the series, while staying "true to its DNA" without being repetitive. On the other hand, Kleiner stated that they expect the return of actor-series creator Graham for another season. In an earlier conversation with Variety, Graham left the cards open for another outing. "There’s the possibility of developing another story," Graham said.
