Hiccup and Toothless' story will continue in the second part of live-action remake of How To Train Your Dragon 2. The announcement was made during the film's presentation at CinemaCon on Wednesday where it was also revealed that it will be released in theatres on June 11, 2027, two years after the first live-action movie hits screens.

The upcoming How To Train Your Dragon films will be based on DreamWorks Animation's movies released in 2010 and 2014 respectively. The franchise was inspired by the book series from author Cressida Cowell.

Dean DeBlois, who directed both the animated features, returns for the live-action remakes as well. Mason Thames and Nico Parker will be back as Hiccup and Astrid. Gerard Butler plays Hiccup's father, Stoick the Vast. The first animated movie was helmed by DeBlois along with Chris Sanders.
