A while ago, Tom Hiddleston unveiled a new poster showcasing his character in The Life of Chuck, his forthcoming film with writer-director Mike Flanagan. Following its People’s Choice Award win at the The Toronto Film Festival last year, the trailer for Flanagan’s film offered audiences an initial official glimpse into it a couple of weeks ago. “The universe is large and it contains multitudes, but it also contains me,” Chuck declares in the teaser, clad in a suit and standing on a street. Hiddleston's latest poster intensifies the excitement for the project.
With The Life of Chuck, Flanagan departs from the typical horror elements of Doctor Sleep and The Haunting of Hill House, instead presenting a narrative centred on existence and the significance of progression amid despair. Adapted from Stephen King’s novella, The Life of Chuck unfolds in reverse chronological order across three separate segments, tracing the enigmatic life of an apparent everyman accountant named Chuck Krantz (Hiddleston). The official description reads, "A life-affirming, genre-bending story based on Stephen King's novella about three chapters in the life of an ordinary man named Charles Krantz."
The ensemble cast also features Jacob Tremblay, Mark Hamill, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Matthew Lillard, Karen Gillan, and Mia Sara, alongside Nick Offerman providing the narration.
Neon will release The Life of Chuck in US cinemas on June 6.
