The 76th Primetime Emmy Awards was held on September 16 (IST) at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. Hosted by the father-son duo of Eugene and Dan Levy, the over two-hour-long show had some shows that made history as well as some shows that took home some surprising wins.
FX's hit series Shogun, which is set in Japan, won whopping 18 awards at the event including Outstanding Drama Series, which made it the first non-English language show to take home the coveted award. Only last week the show picked up 14 prizes at the Creative Arts Emmys.
Meanwhile, Baby Reindeer won four awards, three out of which where taken by the show's creator and star, Scottish comedian Richard Gadd for acting in, writing and executive producing the show.
The Bear won four awards, including best comedy actor for Jeremy Allen White. This is the second time the actor has picked up his award for his outstanding role as Carmy on the show.
Hacks emerged as the surprise winner in the best comedy series category, beating The Bear. It follows the love-hate relationship between a veteran comedian and her younger writer.
