Josalynn Smith's short film Ride or Die is getting the big screen treatment. Actors Stella Everett and Briana Middleton are set to headline the feature based on Smith's short film. Smith herself is the writer and director of the film, and she will produce it along with Matthew Keene Smith. On the other hand, Datari Turner of Foxxhole Productions serves as the executive producer.
Middleton stars in the film as Paula, whose California aspirations are intertwined with her reunion with Everett's character Jamie. An errand turns into a cathartic trip through the Midwestern United States, where a vengeance plot transforms an emerging romance.
Middleton is the star of the Ben Caron directorial Sharper, also featuring Julianne Moore, Sebastian Stan, Justice Smith. Her upcoming projects also include the series adaptation of William Gibson’s science-fiction novel Neuromancer.
A Fendi Vanguard Award recipient and a Juilliard drama school alum, Everett's credits include Evil and East New York.
