Hayao Miyazaki's animation film,The Boy and the Heron earned rave reviews after its theatrical release earlier this year and won best Animated Feature Film at the 96th Academy Awards. Now, Netflix has announced that the film would release on its platform on October 07. Netflix will also release its English dubbed version because the poster and the caption of the announcement post mention the English voice artists, including Christian Bale and Robert Pattinson.

The Miyazaki film tells the story of a boy named Mahito, who goes to his father Shoichi and step mother Natsuko's resort after his mother passes away in a fire accident in war-torn Tokyo. At the estate, he encounters a talking heron, who tells him that his mother is still alive, and a pyrokinetic woman named Himi. The film follows their adventurous journey into a world full of mysterious creatures. Full of signature Miyazaki touches,The Boy and the Heron explores deep themes such as grief and self acceptance. The voice cast of the Japanese version includes Soma Santoki (Mahito), Masaki Suda (The Heron), Aimyon (Lady Himi), Yoshino Kimura (Natsuko).
