Earlier, we reported about Emily Blunt in talks to star in Steven Spielberg's next film, with the filmmaker's frequent collaborator David Koepp attached as the screenwriter. While Blunt's involvement in the film still awaits official confirmation, the latest development is that Eve Hewson's representatives are also negotiating with its makers over a role for her in the film.
Spielberg will direct the yet-to-be-titled feature for Universal Pictures. The film is slated for release on May 15, 2026, which will make it the first summer film from Spielberg in ten years after The BFG. The makers are yet to reveal any information about the film's plot, but it is reportedly a spectacle in line with the Spielberg brand of cinema. If the deal goes through, it would reunite Hewson with her Bridge of Spies director Spielberg.
Macosko Krieger, who backed Spielberg's most recent film The Fablemans, will also produce his next directorial.
Hewson plays a role in The Perfect Couple, the Susanne Bier directorial based on Elin Hilderbrand's eponymous novel that also features Meghann Fahy, Nicole Kidman, and Ishaan Khattar.
