Trey Parker and Matt Stone, creators of the political satire series South Park, revealed that the animated series is delayed and won't return until next year, and that they don't want to joke about Donald Trump anymore.
In an interview with Vanity Fair, Stone said, "We’ve tried to do South Park through four or five presidential elections, and it is such a hard thing to—it’s such a mind scramble, and it seems like it takes outsized importance."
Parker commented, "It's important, but it kind of takes over everything, and we just have less fun. I don’t know what more we could possibly say about Trump."
The duo also mentioned that the reason for the delay was due to issues in Paramount. The most recent episode of the series had aired way back in March 2023 on Comedy Central. A special, South Park: The End of Obesity, aired on Paramount+ on May 24, 2024.
