Earlier this year, the makers of SYNC unveiled the science-fiction thriller film in the informal market of the Toronto Film Festival. Now, they have cast Cody Christian, Michael Pare, and Jonetta Kaiser in the lead roles of the film.
Set in 2035, SYNC follows a grieving person (Christian) who reverts to a piece of groundbreaking technology in order to get back together with an AI-created model of his late fiancee (Kaiser). However, when the man explores his virtual encounters with her, he finds something unusual about her programming.
Debutant director RJ Zabasky himself penned the screenplay for SYNC. The film is set to go on floors later this year. The cast also includes Abigaille Ozrey, Jake Ebright, Jill Lover, Frederick Trankels, and Emily Ozrey.
Zabasky also serves as a producer on SYNC through his banner Doolin Entertainment, alongside Kami Norton, Evan Sorlien and Vincent Young. Jacob Samuel and Jaime Gallagher serve as co-producers.
