Laurie Metcalf, Tom Hollander and Olivia Williams have joined the cast of Ryan Murphy's Monster season 3. Variety first broke the news.

The trio will join Charlie Hunnam, who has been cast as Ed Gein, the infamous serial killer in the Netflix anthology series. While Metcalf will play Gein's mother Augusta, Hollandar stars as Alfred Hitchcock and Williams will play Alma Hitchcock.

Gein is often referred to as "the Butcher of Plainfield", a notorious serial killer and a grave robber who served as an inspiration for Norman Bates, the central character in Hitchcock's 1960 iconic class hit Psycho.

The first season of the anthology series Dahmer — Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, released in 2022, starred Evan Peters as Dahmer and Niecey Nash as Glenda Cleveland, and tells the story of serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer.

The second season Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, which was released in September this year, focussed on the case of the real-life brothers who were convicted in 1996 for the murders of their parents, José and Mary Louise “Kitty” Menendez. It starred Javier Bardem, Chloë Sevigny, Cooper Koch, Nicholas Alexander Chavez, Ari Graynor and Nathan Lane.

Production for the third season is set to begin soon.
