Your Monster star Melissa Barrera dropped a new poster for her film, with writer-director Caroline Lindy. The poster shows Melissa's character sharing an embrace with Tommy Dewey's titular character. The film stars Melissa as actor Laura Franco, whose boyfriend (Edmund Donovan) ditches her as she regains her health after surgery, making her go back to her childhood residence for recovery. Later, she forges a connection with a monster (Tommy) that encourages her to pursue her ambitions and embrace the rage inside her. The tagline for the film reads thus: "Love can be a beast."
Lindy has written and directed Your Monster based on her 2019 short film of the same name. The film also stars Meghann Fahy, Edmund Donovan, and Kayla Foster. It premiered at the Midnight section of the 2024 Sundance Film Festival and got the Audience Favorite Award at the London edition of the festival. Kayla also produced the film alongside Shannon Reilly, Melanie Donkers, Kira Carstensen, and Caroline Lindy. Vertical (formerly Vertical Entertainment) will distribute the film in theatres.
Your Monster is slated for an October 25 release in theatres.
