The trailer for the Bob Dylan biopic, A Complete Unknown, starring Timothee Chalamet as the iconic singer-songwriter, was unveiled on Tuesday.
The trailer shows Chalamet as Dylan, who moves to a new city and changes the music scenario there with his folk music talent. However, when people expect him to be something he doesn't want to be, he finds it challenging.
Helmed by James Mangold, A Complete Unknown delves into the formative years of Dylan’s legendary career. Set in the early 1960s, it follows young Bob Dylan as he goes from Minnesota to Greenwich Village and shakes the foundations of the folk music scene there.
Mangold and Jay Cocks adapted it from Elijah Wald’s book Dylan Goes Electric. The title is a nod to a line from Dylan's most popular song 'Like a Rolling Stone'. While Dylan remains uninvolved in the project, it is reported that he generously shared insights and held multiple meetings with Mangold to ensure authenticity.
A Complete Unknown also stars Edward Norton as Pete Seeger, Elle Fanning as Sylvie Russo, Monica Barbaro as Joan Baez, Boyd Holbrook as Johnny Cash, Dan Fogler as Albert Grossman, and Scoot McNairy as Woody Guthrie.
Chalamet and Mangold also produced it alongside Fred Berger, Alex Heineman, Peter Jaysen, Bob Bookman, Alan Gasmer, and Jeff Rosen. A Complete Unknown will hit theatres on December 25, along with Robert Eggers' Nosferatu remake.
