Michael Bay is reportedly in discussions to helm the Will Smith actioner for Netflix, Fast and Loose. Smith will be seen playing man who wakes up in Tijuana, Mexico, with memory loss. As he discovers his past, he learns he's been living two lives, one as a crime kingpin and the other as a secret CIA agent.

The screenplay for Fast and Loose has been written by Jon Hoeber, Erich Hoeber, Chris Bremner and Eric Pearson. While David Leitch was previously attached to direct the film, he exited the project to begin working on The Fall Guy.

Leitch and Kelly McCormick are producing Fast and Loose for 87North, along with Smith. Executive producers are Robert Simonds and Noah Fogelson for STXfilms.

Bay and Smith have previously collaborated on the 1995 action-comedy Bad Boys and its 2003 sequel. Released in June, the latest sequel in the franchise, Bad Boys: Ride or Die, saw Smith and Lawrence reprise their characters from the original film.

Smith is currently also working on Sony's sci-fi, Resistor, which is an adaptation of the 2014 novel Influx by Daniel Suarez. He will next feature in Warner Bros' biographical drama King Richard. He is playing the role of Richard Williams, the father and coach of tennis players Venus and Serena Williams. He will also star in the remake of the 1980s John Hughes classic Planes, Trains and Automobiles along with Kevin Hart.

Bay last directed the 2022 film, Ambulance, starring  Jake Gyllenhaal and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.
