Following the back-to-back release of Blink Twice and Fly Me to the Moon, Channing Tatum stars in a true crime film titled Roofman, reports Deadline. Joining Tatum in the Derek Cianfrance directorial is Kirsten Dunst, who is also riding high following her critically acclaimed role in filmmaker Alex Garland's thriller Civil War.
The film is being made with a screenplay from Cianfrance himself and Kirt Gunn based on a serial robber named Jeffrey Manchester, who stole from multiple McDonald’s outlets after breaking in through their roofs. An erstwhile American Army Reserve officer, Jeffrey was convicted and sent to jail in 2000. However, he broke out of jail and evaded the cops for months at a toy store in North Carolina. He was captured again after he left his fingerprints on a DVD of Steven Spielberg film Catch Me If You Can, starring Leonardo DiCaprio as a con artist. The film will revolve around the robber's months-long escapade.
Dunst stars in the film as a staff member at the store who struggles to make a living for herself and her girls, Lindsay and Dee. She eventually falls in love with Jeffrey, and the story also explores their relationship.
