FX has ordered a new drama series The Beauty starring Evan Peters, Anthony Ramos, Jeremy Pope and Ashton Kutcher in lead roles. Ryan Murphy directs the series along with Matt Hodgson who has also co-created, written and executive produced along with Murphy.

This marks a homecoming of sorts for Peters and Murphy, who have collaborated on nine installments of the anthology series American Horror Story, Pose and Monster. Most recently, Peters starred in the Netflix series Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, which Murphy co-created with Ian Brennan.

The Beauty is based on the comic books by Jeremy Haun and Jason A Hurley, which is set in a world where a sexually transmitted disease named 'The Beauty' spreads across the world — largely because it makes people more physically attractive. However, two detectives soon find a conspiracy theory linked to the origins of the disease, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Production for The Beauty is scheduled to begin in November this year. No details regarding the actors' roles or the plot have been announced by the makers. A tentative release date is yet to be revealed.

Peters, Murphy, Hodgson, Kutcher, Ramos, and Pope are all executive producers along with Alexis Martin Woodall, Eric Kovtun, Scott Robertson, Nissa Diederich and Eric Gitter. The series is produced by 20th Television in association with Ryan Murphy Television. Murphy is under an overall deal at Disney, which includes 20th Television.
