Peacemaker creator James Gunn has completed production on the second season of his superhero show. While delivering the production update through social media, the co-head of the DC Studios thanked the last few actors to shoot for it: Steve Agee, Sol Rodriguez, Tim Meadows, and Brandon Stanley. Earlier this year, Jennifer Holland and Cena wrapped their portions on the show. It went on floors in April this year.
Peacemaker follows the further adventures of Cena's character from Gunn's 2021 film The Suicide Squad, a self-absorbed antihero who will stop at nothing to achieve his vision of peace. The show premiered in 2022, and it gained critical and audience acclaim for its distinctive humour and characterisation, as well as performances.
DC Studios or Gunn is yet to reveal plot details of Peacemaker season 2. Regarding the cast, it introduces Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr, a live-action version of his voice role from the Max animation show Creature Commandos.
Peacemaker season 2 is slated for an August 2025 release on Max.
