
Actor Samuel L Jackson is in negotiations to star in a key role in filmmaker JJ Abrams' upcoming feature in works at Warner Bros. If the deal goes through, Jackson will be a part of the star-studded cast which includes Glen Powell, Jenna Ortega, and Emma Mackey.
The yet-to-be-titled feature has a script written by JJ Abrams. The plot details of the film and its characters have not been revealed yet. While there were speculations about it being a time travel, but reports deny the news.
Abrams is also producing it through his banner Bad Robot. According to reports, the film is set to go on floors in early 2025. This new project marks Abrams' first time directing since 2019's Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker. Jackson, who played Jedi Master Mace Windu in the Star Wars prequel trilogy, had a brief voice cameo in the film's climax, is collaborating with Abrams once again.
Abrams has also directed major films like Mission: Impossible III, Star Trek, and Super 8. As a producer, his credits include Cloverfield and its two sequels, along with three entries in the Mission: Impossible franchise.
This year, Jackson starred in The Piano Lesson, Netflix's adaptation of August Wilson's play, where he returned to his role as Doaker Charles from the 2022 Broadway revival. He also featured in Matthew Vaughn's spy thriller Argylle and appeared in the Peacock miniseries Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist.
