Charlotte Kirk, known for her role in Duchess, is set to lead the indie crime drug thriller Myra, directed by senior action filmmaker R Ellis Frazier.
The film’s ensemble cast features Gary Daniels (The Expendables), Mike Ferguson (Showdown at the Grand), Roberto Sanchez (2 Fast 2 Furious), Mauricio Mendoza (Deadpool 2), and Corin Nemec (Place of Bones).
Currently being filmed in Tijuana, Myra centers on a former gang member (played by Kirk) who flees to Mexico with $2 million in bearer bonds following a failed heist in Los Angeles. Her ex-lover and gang leader, Tony (Daniels), soon discovers the betrayal and sets off in pursuit. Myra has only 36 hours to convert the bonds, break free from her old life, and secure her future. But Tony isn’t the only one on her trail—she must also evade a ruthless local crime boss (Sanchez) and a crooked police officer (Nemec), emphasizing the age-old lesson that stolen money comes with steep consequences.
The script was penned by Benjamin Budd (Hustle Down), while Jorge Ariel Gardea (Seized) and Frazier (Exodus of Charlie Wright) are producing for Badhouse Studios Mexico, with Marci Lee serving as executive producer for Altitude Productions.
Kirk, recently seen in action films such as The Duchess, The Lair, and The Reckoning, will next appear in Exit Protocol alongside Dolph Lundgren and Michael Jai White, and Neil Marshall’s upcoming film Compulsion.
Frazier, who recently released the action-thriller Day Labor, is also known for his work on films like As Good as Dead, Repeater, Hustle Down, Legacy, Larceny, and more.
