Jason Isaacs, Russell Peters, and Jimmi Simpson have signed on to star as the voice actors in the animation feature Pierre the Pigeon-Hawk. They join the film's existing cast Grammy award winner Will.i.am, rapper Snoop Dogg, The White Lotus actor Jennifer Coolidge, and EGOT winner Whoopi Goldberg. Tara Whitaker and John D Eraklis are directing the film from a screenplay by Jay Dowski and Ciaran Crampton.
Jennifer Hudson, Luis Guzman, Kenan Thompson, Howie Mandel, Domenick Lombardozzi, Evan Ross, Ashlee Simpson, Paul Blackthorne, Matthew Del Negro, Jamal Trulove, and Alison Jaye round out the cast.
The animation feature follows Pierre (Will.i.am) a pigeon-hawk hybrid who straddles two worlds and has a hard time finding his place. Gradually, he learns how to turn his personal differences into strong suits. The film explores themes such as diversity and belonging.
"We are beyond lucky to be working with a cast of this magnitude. They have elevated this project to the highest level. We are very excited to share their comedic brilliance with the world," stated Crampton, the creator of the film.
Isaacs is most popular for his performance as Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter series. Dark Matter and Pachinko are some of Simpson’s recent projects. On the other hand, one of the world's most famous standup comics, Peters' best known film credit is a brief cameo in the Jake Gyllenhaal starrer Source Code.
