Streamer Disney+Hotstar has revealed the release date of Star Wars spin-off series Andor season 2.
On Monday, it was officially announced that the second and final season of Andor will begin streaming on April 22, 2025, on Disney+Hotstar. Andor is based on the 2016 film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The spinoff series revolves around Cassian Andor, played by Diego Luna, who is drawn into the rebel movement headed by Luthen Rael (Stellan Skarsgard) and Mon Mothma (Genevieve O'Reilly) after life gets unbearable under the oppressive regime of the Galactic Empire.
The second season, penned by Tony Gilroy, will focus on the last four years of Andor's character, which ultimately leads to the events of Rogue One. The 12-episode series is expected to progress one year each in Andor's final years every third episode. Apart from Luna, Skarsgard and O'Reilly, the series also stars Kyle Soller, Adria Arjona, Fiona Shaw, Denise Gough, Faye Marsay, Varada Sethu, and Elizabeth Dulau.
Fans have been awaiting updates from the makers of Andor since the first season concluded in 2022. The series is produced by Lucasfilm's Kate Hazell and David Meanti, while Luna and Gilroy serve as executive producers along with Sanne Wohlenberg, Kathleen Kennedy, Toby Haynes and Michelle Rejwan.
