Ginny & Georgia star Felix Mallard is set to lead Nest, a home invasion thriller about a young family targeted by a deadly new species of spider. Mallard will play Remy, a new father who is overwhelmed by the challenges of parenthood and setting up his family’s new home. With his ambitious wife Grace frequently away, Remy finds himself managing baby Zoe, his career, and the task of transforming their house—unaware that it’s already inhabited.

The film’s antagonist is a massive female spider, brought to life through a combination of puppetry by Russell Sharp (Late Night with the Devil) and his team at Sharp FX, and enhanced by Alt.FX (The Pope’s Exorcist).

The thriller is written and directed by Guy Edmonds, who previously co-created the Australian series Spooky Files and Hardball for ABC, and drew inspiration from his own experiences with impending fatherhood. This project marks his debut as a feature director.

Produced by Melissa Kelly and Bethany Jones of Mushroom Studios, with executive producer Joe Weatherstone, Nest was developed in collaboration with script consultant Daina Reid (The Handmaid’s Tale).

Mallard is known for his role in Netflix’s Ginny & Georgia, which will return for a third season in 2025, with a fourth already greenlit. He recently starred in Turtles All the Way Down alongside Isabella Merced on Max and has appeared in Locke & Key on Netflix, Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist on NBC, and the Netflix film All the Bright Places.
