After making an appearance in Magpie and Young Woman and the Sea in 2024, actor Daisy Ridley is set to headline a project yet again. She will play the lead in director Martin Campbell's upcoming action thriller Dedication. The film reunites Campbell and Ridley after Cleaner.
Dedication will be made by Campbell with the screenplay from Dan Gordon, who has to his credit Wyatt Earp and The Hurricane.
According to Variety, Dedication revolves around Major Billie Jean Parker (Ridley), a celebrated Marine Corps commander. Parker is terminated after a major mission in the Philippines causes civilian casualties, in spite of capturing Omar Romatas, an anarchist leader. With her career at stake, she pays a visit to her dying father, an erstwhile Marine, and he tells her to participate in a dedication ceremony for a school building named after him. Seeking revenge for Omar Romatas, his son, Bento, takes hostages after launching an assault at the ceremony. This situation forces Parker to enter combat mode as she takes on the attackers with her own strategies.
