Ryan Reynolds revealed that he is writing a film that will not be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and will reunite him with his Deadpool and Wolverine director Shawn Levy and co-star Hugh Jackman. Speaking on the Variety Awards Circuit Podcast, Ryan Reynolds said, "I’m spending the year writing. I’m writing a movie for myself, Hugh [Jackman] and Shawn [Levy] to do that is not Marvel."
However, Reynolds is yet to reveal whether a production house or distributor has greenlight the project. If the project materialises, it would mark Reynolds' fourth collaboration with Lewy, after Free Guy, The Adam Project, and Deadpool and Wolverine.
Reynolds also served as a co-writer on Deadpool and Wolverine, which recently became the highest-grossing MCU film to have an R rating. Interesting, it is also the first entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to have an R rating.
