The casting details of Let's Love, written and directed by Jamie Adams, has been revealed by the makers on Monday.
Accordingly, actors Martin Freeman, Malin Akerman, Josh Hutcherson, Jess Weixler and Craig Roberts have joined the comedy's cast that stars Chloe Jouannet and Richard Elis.
The film is under production in Wales and is expected to complete postproduction by early 2025. Produced by Bristol-based Happy Hour Productions and Manchester-based Boudica Entertainment along with Principal Film Finance, Freeman will play screenwriter Nigel, Akerman as film director Andrea, Hutcherson as her husband and lead actor Jackson, and Weixler as the on-screen romantic lead Jess. Let's Love follows the four reuniting at Wales to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their last hit film, only to end up with disappointment, realising that the studio representative has booked their fan event for the wrong month. The quartet decides to make use of their time to put in a last-ditch effort to revive their hopeless careers by pitching a sequel to the film over the weekend. The film will be about whether or not they were able to save their careers while they face their inner anxieties, aspirations, agendas and fractured relationships.
Talking about the project and his actors, Adams called Let's Love as one of the "greatest filmmaking experiences" of his life and noted that indie films will be alive and well "when legends such as Martin Freeman, Josh Hutcherson, Malin Akerman and Jess Weixler get involved."
