The ensemble cast of Knives Out 3 is getting bigger. The latest to join the cast is Kerry Washington and Glenn Close. They join the previously announced cast of Daniel Craig, who is returning as the quirky detective Benoit Blanc in the third instalment, along with Andrew Scott, Josh O’Connor and Cailee Spaeny.

Rian Johnson, who helmed the first two films, namely Knives Out and Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, is returning to write and direct the third film titled Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery. He is also set to produce the film with his partner, Ram Bergman under the T-Street Pictures banner. Plot details for the upcoming film is yet to be revealed, but Johnson and Craig have teased that it is Blanc’s “most dangerous case yet.”

Wake Up Dead Man will mark a second collaboration between Craig and Scott, who have previously worked together in the James Bond film Spectre (2015). The upcoming film is scheduled to hit theatres in 2025.

Washington is best known for portraying Olivia Pope in the ABC drama Scandal. She was most recently seen in Netflix's adaptation of The School of Good and Evil. She has also worked in films like Ray, Save the Last Dance and Django Unchained, and the Hulu miniseries Little Fires Everywhere.

Close, an eight-time Oscar nominee and three-time Tony winner, has several movies in postproduction, among them Lee Daniel’s supernatural thriller The Deliverance and the action-comedy Back in Action. Both features will debut on Netflix. She most recently starred in Ron Howard’s Hillbilly Elegy for Netflix.
