Douglas Smith and Liza Weil are cast in the lead roles of Lunar Sway, a dark comedy film from writer-director Nick Butler, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Noah Parker is also part of the film's cast.

The film revolves around Parker's Cliff, who has a chance encounter with his birth mother (Weil) in a desert town as he grapples with his romantic relationship with a dentist named Stew (Smith). The makers are seeking additional cast for the film, which is set to go on floors this September.

It is Butler's second film after The Legacy of Cloudy Falls. “I’m beyond excited to collaborate with this incredible cast. Liza, Douglas, and Noah are the perfect actors to bring depth and nuance to our loving tribute to toxic relationships,” Butler remarked in a recent statement.

Smith's previous credits include The Alienist and Big Little Lies and upcoming projects include Horizon: An American Saga and Superman & Lois. Parker is known for Who by Fire and The Voyeurs. Weil's popular credits include Gilmore Girls, The Cleaning Lady, and How to Get Away With Murder.
