A film and a docuseries based on the Isle of Man TT motorbike race are in development at Channing Tatum and Brad Pitt‘s production companies, Free Association and Plan B Entertainment, and at Mediawan, respectively. It is among the world's deadliest and best-known motorbike races and happens on an island nation located in the Irish Sea. Racers gravitated towards it at a time when England banned road racing in the early twentieth century.
“We dare anyone to find more awe-inspiring people or a more breathtakingly vibrant world than The Isle of Man TT. We’ve always been drawn to characters who push the edge of what’s possible, and this race is their Shangri-La. We’re deeply honoured to be part of the creative dream team telling the story of this legendary event, and can’t wait to finally share this mythical sport we love with audiences all across the globe,” stated Free Association’s Tatum, Peter Kiernan, and Reid Carolin.
Plan B Entertainment, Free Association, Guymon Casady of Entertainment 360, Jason Keller, Mediawan, and Box to Box Films are teaming up for the documentary series christened The Greatest Race on Earth for Mediawan, besides a feature-length film around the motorcycle race.
The series will go on floors after the Isle of Man motorbike race this June. On the other hand, the script for the feature film is in development.
