Jesse Plemons wins Best Actor at Cannes for Kinds of Kindness

Jesse Plemons has bagged Best Actor at the Cannes Film Festival for his performance in Kinds of Kindness. The film is directed by Yorgos Lanthimos based on a Efthimis Filippou screenplay. Plemons plays three characters in the film: a cop called Daniel, an acolyte named Andrew, and a husband known as Robert. The film also stars Emma Stone, Willem Dafoe, Hong Chau, Margaret Qualley, Mamoudou Athie, Hunter Schafer, and Joe Alwyn. It reunites Lanthimos with Stone after Poor Things, which helped the latter win the Oscar Best Actress in a Leading Role award.

This is the biggest recognition in Plemons' career. Earlier, he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor for The Power of the Dog. He has also received three Emmy nominations for the series Love & Death, Black Mirror (USS Callister), and Fargo, respectively.

His natural acting talent and small-town charm have made him a successful character actor known for his diverse and memorable roles, including in titles such as Judas and the Black Messiah, Game Night, El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie, and the The Irishman, to name a few.
