The makers of Inside Out 2 have been providing updates on the aspects that the film would operate on as Riley turns a teen in the second part.

As a part of the reveal, the film's animation supervisor Dovi Anderson shares interesting details about the development of 'Anxiety' and how it will set-off chaos in the mind of Riley.

Dovi says that anxiety will take the reins of Riley's emotional console. The anxiety explains its plan, "My job is to protect her (Riley) from the scary stuff she can’t see. I plan for the future."

Appreciating the efforts to make 'anxiety' appealing, Dovi lauded animators for imbibing ‘impulsive’ and ‘remorseful’ gestures by physically playing around with character elements such as twitching, quick head moves, and shaking adding depth to Anxiety’s character.

Anderson further adds that the way of thinking of 'Anxiety', which is several steps ahead in the future to help Riley is attested by experts. "This was very much in line with the research provided by the PhD consultants about what is anxiety and how it manifests itself,” Anderson says.

Inside Out 2 features an expanded team of emotions, set against the backdrop of protagonist Riley’s mind. The film is directed by Kelsey Mann and stars a stellar cast that includes Amy Poehler, Maya Hawke, Phyllis Smith, Lewis Black, Ayo Edibiri, and Kaitlyn Dias in pivotal roles.

Inside Out 2 opens in Indian theatres on 14 June.
