A new report from Deadline unveiled several exclusive first-look images of Russell Crowe, Rami Malek and Michael Shannon-starrer in Nuremberg, the upcoming Nazi thriller from director James Vanderbilt.
The historical thriller is set to kick off its sales campaign at the upcoming 77th edition of the Cannes Film Festival, scheduled from May 14 to 25.
Based on Jack El-Hai’s book The Nazi and the Psychiatrist, Nuremberg will center on American psychiatrist Douglas Kelley (Malek), who is tasked with determining whether Nazi prisoners are fit to stand trial for their war crimes, and finds himself in a complex battle of wits with Hermann Göring (Crowe), Hitler's right-hand man. James Vanderbilt adapted the screenplay from the book which was originally published in 2013.
The film stars Russell Crowe as Herman Göring and Rami Malek as Lt. Colonel Douglas Kelley. The cast also features Colin Hanks, Mark O’Brien, Michael Shannon, Richard E. Grant, John Slattery, Leo Woodall, and Lydia Peckham. Principal photography for the film has recently officially wrapped.
The production team comprises Richard Saperstein, William Sherak, Brad Fischer, Istvan Major, and Paul Neinstein. They are joined by Walden Media's Frank Smith, Benjamin Tappan, and Cher Hawrysh.
