Actor Chris Pine, who was part of Wonder Woman (2017) and Wonder Woman 1984 (2020), expressed astonishment over the cancellation of Wonder Woman 3 by DC studios.

While speaking to the Hollywood reporter, the actor said, "I'm stunned that they said no to a billion-dollar franchise and decided to pivot elsewhere."

Pine went on to praise director of the Wonder Woman franchise, Patty Jenkins for her vision as a "thoughtful director."

It is worth noting, that Jenkins had exited the project in 2022 as she pushed back against the efforts to fit Wonder Woman 3 in the DC Universe. She wrote, "DC is obviously buried in changes they are having to make, so I understand these decisions are difficult right now.”

Dismissing the likelihood of returning as Steve Trevor, Pine remarked, "Me. No. Homie is dead. Steve is gonzo. It would be ridiculous to try to bring me back."

The cancellation of Wonder Woman's third installment coincides with James Gunn and Peter Safran's ascension to the top most position in DC Studios.

Meanwhile, Gunn and Safran's DC Universe will introduce superheroes such as Superman, Batman, and Supergirl.
