Samantha Lorraine cast as Dora The Explorer in new live-action film

Actor Samantha Lorraine has been cast as Dora in the new Dora The Explorer film that is in the works. The family adventure film, tentatively titled Dora and the Search for Sol Dorado, will be helmed by Alberto Belli for Paramount+ and Nickelodeon.

The filmmaker has previously made films like Disney+ holiday feature The Naughty Nine and episodes of Disney show Ultra Violet and Black Scorpion. Meanwhile, Samantha is best known for role in You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah.

Written by J.T. Billings , the script follows as Dora, her cousin Diego and their new friends trek through perilous dangers of the Amazonian jungle in search of the ancient treasure of Sol Dorado in order to keep this powerful treasure out of enemy hands. It is safe to say that the swiper will be making a comeback as well. Other cast members have not been announced yet.

This is the second time that the character has made it into a live-action film. Isabela Moner played the character in Dora and the Lost City of Gold which was released theatrically in 2019.

Dora was once a long-running animated children's show that debuted on Nickelodeon in 2000. Today, it's represented by a number of programmes, video games, toys, and other tie-ins. An animated preschool series called Dora made its Paramount+ premiere in April, and a second season has already been approved.
