Samuel L Jackson and Henry Golding are teaming up to lead the cast of the psychological sci-fi thriller Head Games, which will be directed by Anthony Mandler. The script is written by Colin Liddle, who penned the 2020 Showtime TV movie Penny Dreadful: City of Angels.
According to the description, the film will center around Jacob (Golding), a corporate spy who takes on the identity of a chef to infiltrate a private villa belonging to Graham (Jackson) the founder of a groundbreaking neuroprosthetics company in order to steal his seismic-shifting new invention.
As his plan unfolds, nothing is as it seems and the mind games between the two protagonists begin.
Head Games is Anthony Mandler's third feature after 2018's Kelvin Harrison Jr. crime drama Monster and 2023's Letitia Wright/Michael K Williams Western Surrounded.
Jackson recently starred in Matthew Vaughn spy caper Argylle, and the crime drama Damaged. He has lent his voice to The Garfield Movie, which is scheduled to hit theatres this month. Up next, he has The Piano Lesson, Unholy Trinity and Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist.
Golding, who worked on Guy Ritchie's The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare recently, will be seen in Nine Perfect Strangers, The Old Guard 2, Simple Favor 2 and Daniela Forever, among others.
Head Games is set to start principal photography this October. It will be produced by Range Media Partners’ Brian Kavanaugh-Jones and Fred Berger, Brillstein Entertainment Partners’ Josh Glick, and Everlast Pictures’ Adonis Tountas. Greenstein, Range Media Partners’ Casey Durant, Brillstein Entertainment Partners’ Zac Frognowski, and Kesh Keswani will serve as executive producers.
