Linda Hamilton and Abbie Cornish join Kal Penn in Trust Me, I’m A Doctor

Earlier this year, we reported that Kal Penn would star in Trust Me, I'm a Doctor, a film that follows the final few days of model-turned-actress Anne Nicole Smith who died of a drug overdose. In the latest development, Linda Hamilton and Abbie Cornish have signed on to the Kal Penn starrer. Thane Economou is directing the film from his own screenplay based on Anna Nicole Smith's therapist Dr Sandeep Kapoor's memoir. Penn plays Dr Sandeep Kapoor and Cornish essays the role of Nicole Smith in the film. On the other hand, Hamilton stars in the film as veteran attorney Ellyn Garafalo, who also acted as Kapoor's lifeline right through the trial related to Nicole Smith's death. The cast of Trust Me, I'm a Doctor also includes, Al Sapienza, Eric Woolfe, Charlotte Ubben, Dhirendra, and David Julian Hirsh.

Ryan Hawkins of STADIUM, Geenah Krisht of Good Good Films, Al Engemann of Picture Movers Anonymous, and Rebecca Case are producing the film, in coordination with the RBF Productions banner. David Gale and Dan Spilo are serving as executive producers.

Hamilton is most popular for playing Sarah Connor in James Cameron's Terminator films, and her upcoming projects include the much-awaited Stranger Things finale.

Cornish, meanwhile, is best known for her performances in films such as Seven Psychopaths and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. She is fresh from a role in Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, opposite director-actor John Krasinski.
