Scarlett Johansson in talks to headline Gareth Edwards' Jurassic World film

Scarlett Johansson is reportedly in talks to star in the new Jurassic World film, set to be helmed by Gareth Edwards, as per a report on The Hollywood Reporter.

Backed by Universal, the new film is set to have its script penned by David Koepp, writer of Jurassic Park. Previously, David Leitch was roped in to helm the film, but he exited the project. Edwards was brought in as the director, right after.

The yet-to-be-titled Jurassic World film is all set to be executive produced by Spielberg through Amblin Entertainment. The film franchise began in 1993, with Steven Spielberg helming the first project. The upcoming film will mark the seventh film in the franchise.

Meanwhile, Johansson, popularly known for her stint as Black Widow or Natasha Romanoff in the Marvel films, has Transformers One coming up, in which she has played a voice role. She also has a film co-starring Channing Tatum, which is slated to be released sometime this year.
