House of the Dragon Season 2 has dropped a new batch of character posters, teasing the Game of Thrones prequel's return ahead of the first trailer which drops today, March 21.

In House of the Dragon, Team Green backs Aegon II Targaryen, the designated heir, while Team Black supports his half-sister Rhaenyra Targaryen, hinting at the brutal civil war, known as the Dance of the Dragons, which shattered the Targaryen dynasty.

The Team Green posters include Aegon II Targaryen, Ser Criston Cole, Aemond Targaryen and Alicent Hightower, the Blacks are made up of Rhaenyra Targaryen, Daemon Targaryen, Corlys Velaryon and Rhaenys Targaryen. The official account of House of The Dragon shared the posters with the tagline "All Must Choose". The posters tease an epic war brewing between the factions.

House of the Dragon, which is the prequel to the hit series Game of Thrones, follows the events two centuries before the original. The ten episodes of the prequel's first season depicted how the House of Targaryen fell into a bitter and brutal civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons — presaging the beginning of the end of the ruling family of Westeros.

The series, created by authors George RR Martin and Ryan J Condal, based on Martin's novel Fire & Blood, stars an ensemble cast including Paddy Considine, Emmy D'Arcy, Matt Smith, Rhys Ifans, Olivia Cooke and Fabien Frankel. Previously announced newcomers are Abubakar Salim as Alyn of Hull, Gayle Rankin as Alys Rivers, Freddie Fox as Ser Gwayne Hightower, and Simon Russell Beale as Ser Simon Strong.

The series takes place nearly 200 years before the events of “Game of Thrones” and about 100 years after the Targaryens united the Seven Kingdoms.

House of the Dragon has Ryan Condal as the co-runner of the series. Season 2, which is scheduled to drop in June this year, will be available to stream on Jio Cinema.
