Alien: Romulus teaser trailer out

The teaser trailer for Fede Alvarez's Alien: Romulus was unveiled on Wednesday, by 20th Century Studios’, the makers of the film. The ninth instalment in the Alien film franchise, Romulus stars Cailee Spaeny in the lead role. David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, Isabela Merced, Spike Fearn, and Aileen Wu co-star alongside Spaeny.

The official synopsis of Alien: Romulus reads, "While scavenging the deep ends of a derelict space station, a group of young space colonizers come face to face with the most terrifying life form in the universe." The 62-second teaser trailer teases us with eerie silence at a space station, only to scare us later with terrifying creatures and spattered blood.

Known for Evil Dead and Don't Breathe, Fede Alvarez has helmed Alien: Romulus from a screenplay written by him along with his frequent collaborator Rodo Saygues. The film is based on characters created by Dan O’Bannon and Ronald Shusett.

Ridley Scott, who directed the original Alien, is producing Alien: Romulus, just as he backed and directed the series' entries Prometheus, and Alien: Covenant. Michael Pruss and Walter Hill are also producing the series, along with executive producers Alvarez, Elizabeth Cantillon, Brent O'Connor, and Rom Moran.

With a worldwide release on August 16, Alien: Romulus will arrive in India a day earlier, on August 15.
