New trailer of Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga out

A new trailer of Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga has arrived and it puts the battle between Anya Taylor-Joy's Furiosa and Chris Hemsworth's Dementus center stage.

In the new trailer, we meet her as a girl (played initially by Alyla Browne) brought up in the lush, verdant Green Place of Many Mothers, one of the few vegetated areas still thriving in the aftermath of nuclear apocalypse. But she falls into the hands of the warlord Dementus (Chris Hemsworth, clearly having the time of his life), and so begins a vengeful quest to rescue her mother from the clutches of the villain.

Furiosa serves as both a spin-off and a prequel to Mad Max: Fury Road (2015), as well as the fifth film in the Mad Max franchise. Directed by George Miller, who earlier helmed the franchise's second and third instalments, in the upcoming film, Anya will be portraying the young version of Charlize Theron's character in Fury Road. Miller also penned the script with Mad Max: Fury Road co-writer Nico Lathouris.

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga also stars Chris Hemsworth, Tom Burke, and Daniel Webber. Nathan Jones and Angus Sampson reprise their roles as Rictus Erectus and The Organic Mechanic from Fury Road.

The film is scheduled to be released in theatres on May 24 this year.
