Winnie-the-Pooh franchise launches crossover film Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble

ITN Films and Jagged Edge Productions are bringing one more twisted interpretation of the Winnie-the-Pooh children's book series by AA Milne. Frake-Waterfield will direct Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble, borrowing characters from Milne's book series featuring figures like the titular character, Pinocchio, Sleeping Beauty, Bambi, the Mad Hatter, Peter Pan, and Tinkerbell.

"It will be complete carnage," promises Jagged Edge Products' Rhys Frake-Waterfield. "We are heavily influenced by Freddy Vs Jason and The Avengers. We would love to see a horror movie where the villains group together and are going after their survivors. We have some incredible set pieces in mind and some sequences I think will truly shock people."

The original Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey features a monstrous Pooh on a killing spree with Piglet after Christopher Robin abandons them. The upcoming sequel promises more of the same feral fury. Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble will unite the horror versions of these beloved characters.

The standalone Winnie-the-Pooh films will have Easter eggs that hint at the crossover, alongside some internal conflicts leading to epic monster showdowns. The characters in the film include Pooh, Tigger, Rabbit, Owl, Piglet, Pinocchio, Sleeping Beauty, Bambi, the Mad Hatter, Peter Pan, and Tinkerbell.

Scott Chambers, another Jagged Edge producer, will reprise his role as Christopher Robin in the film. It boasts an ensemble cast featuring Megan Plactio as Wendy Darling, Lewis Santer as a terrifying Tigger, and Roxanne McKee as Xana. Nicole Holland and Stuart Alson serve as executive producers, with Premiere Entertainment handling sales.

Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble is expected to go on floors this year in anticipation of a 2025 release. Before then, Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 hits theatres on March 26 through Fathom Events.
