Recently, we reported that the sequel of The Accountant (2016) is all set to see the return of Ben Affleck, Jon Bernthal, J K Simmons and Cynthia Addai-Robinson. The latest update is that the shooting for the film will begin early next week, as per a report on Collider.
In a conversation with Collider, JK Simmons said, "Yeah, I head to LA in a little over a week to do some rehearsals and pre-production and start shooting my chunk of it. I’m not even sure, I think they start early next week because then I'm in the week after and doing my supporting thing."
The sequel to Gavin O’Connor's action thriller, The Accountant 2 is set to be backed by Amazon MGM Studio along with Artists Equity. O'Connor will also return as the director of The Accountant 2, which will have a script penned by Bill Dubuque.
Affleck played an extremely talented but autistic certified public accountant, Christian Wolff, who has another life as a criminal organisation's forensic accountant. He is tasked with tackling a dangerous web of deceit when he discovers discrepancies in a legitimate robotics company.
Bernthal played Brax, Christian's brother and security company operator. Director of the Treasury Department’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, Ray King, was played by Simmons. Addai-Robinson was seen as an up-and-coming Treasury agent, Marybeth Medina, who had to unveil the Accountant's real identity.
In the The Accountant 2, Medina is pulled back into a dangerous world when her ex-boss is murdered. Unable to solve it alone, she reunites with Christian, who uses his brains and bad-boy brother Brax to crack the case. But the closer they get, the more dangerous it becomes, as powerful enemies emerge to silence them for good.
Affleck is producing The Accountant 2 along with Damon under their Artists Equity banner. Lynette Howell Taylor and Mark Williams are co-producing for 51 Entertainment.
