Australian stuntman Grant Page, known for his work in Mad Max franchise films and countless other projects, died at the age of 85 the other day. In a conversation with Daily Mail Australia, Page's son Leroy said that his father's vehicle hit a tree as he was driving around his house in New South Wales' Kendall town. “He died in very high spirits, and he was very motivated ,” Leroy told the publication.
An Australian film legend, Page collaborated with Mad Max filmmaker George Miller for 1979's Mel Gibson-starrer that kicked off the franchise. He not only acted as a stunt coordinator but also performed stunts in the original Mad Max and its second part, Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome. He also performed the same roles in the next film in the franchise, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, which is set to premiere at Festival de Cannes this May. Furthermore, Trenchard-Smith’s Dangerfreaks documentary was focused on this stuntman's career.
