Filmmakers Roger Corman and Joe Dante are collaborating with producer Brad Krevoy on Little Shop of Halloween Horrors. It is a reimagining of The Little Shop of Horrors, Corman's horror comedy from 1960, and is meant to kickstart a fresh franchise.
Dante is directing the film based on a Charles S Haas screenplay, while Krevoy and Corman are co-producing it with Charles Cohen.
Corman's 1960 original is a genre film made with a low budget, starring Seymour Krelboin, Jackie Joseph, Mel Welles, and Jack Nicholson. It follows Seymour's Jonathan Haze as he discovers a mysterious plant that consumes human flesh and blood. Remarkably, Corman wrapped up the shooting of the original film in a couple of days. Over time, it earned cult status and spawned an Off-Broadway musical in 1982 and a musical horror comedy four years later.
Further details about the cast and crew details of Little Shop of Halloween Horrors are still unknown.
