Teddy Wayne has sold the rights to his novel titled 'The Winner' to Colombia Pictures. Amy Pascal's Pascal Pictures banner and Rachel O’Connor will produce the film adaptation of the novel. Harper Collins is publishing the novel, and its print version will only be available in bookstores at the end of May this year.
According to reports, The Winner revolves around Conor, a law graduate who enters his new tennis professional job at a gated community adjacent to Cape Cod and starts a romantic relationship with the daughter of a divorced woman as he starts an arrangement with her.
Wayne's best-known novels are The Great Man Theory, Loner, Apartment, Kapitoil, and The Love Song of Jonny Valentine. This is not the first time any of his novels is getting a screen adaptation, whether it be on a big or small screen. Some of his earlier creations have also been the subjects of series and films with MGM Television, HBO, and so forth.
