The British Holocaust drama The Zone of Interest won the Best International Feature Film Oscar. Jonathan Glazer wrote and directed the film, while Ewa PuszczyƄska and James Wilson produced it.

In his acceptance speech, Glazer said, "All our choices were made to reflect and confront us in the present. Our film shows where dehumanisation leads at its worst."

The Zone of Interest follows an Auschwitz commandant and his wife as they and their family try to build the kind of life they always wanted at a property near a concentration camp. The film was also shot at the Az-Birkenau Concentration Camp.

Glazer also penned the script for the film with his cowriter Martin Amis. It was heavily favoured to win an Oscar in the International Feature Film category. It competed with Io Capitano (Italy), Perfect Days (Japan), The Teachers' Lounge (Germany), and Society of the Snow (Spain).

Glazer is also the first British person to have an Oscar nod in categories such as best foreign language film, best director, and best picture.
