Oscars 2024: Poor Things wins in the Best Production Design category

Shona Heath and James Price have won an Oscar for Best Production Design for their work in Poor Things. Price and Heath, alongside set decorator Zsuzsa Mihalek, made up the production design personnel for the film.

Emma Stone, Yorgos Langthimos, Ed Guiney, and Andrew Lowe produced the film, while Searchlight Pictures and Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures distributed it. Langthimos directed Poor Things from a screenplay by Tony McNamara and Alasdair Gray, based on the eponymous novel by Alasdair Gray. Emma Stone, who is nominated for a Best Actress Oscar for her role in the film, plays a young woman who has a rebirth thanks to surgeon Dr Godwin Baxter.

Poor Things has the second-most nominations at the Academy Awards this year, just behind Christopher Nolan's OppenheimerThe film has a surreal world and stars Stone alongside Mark Ruffalo and William Dafoe in the lead roles.

The fellow nominees for Poor Things in the Best Production Design category were Barbie (Sarah Greenwood), Killers of the Flower Moon (Jack Fisk), Napoleon (Arthur Max), and Oppenheimer (Ruth De Jong).
