Ben Affleck, Jon Bernthal, J K Simmons and Cynthia Addai-Robinson to reprise their roles in The Accountant sequel

The sequel of The Accountant (2016) is all set to see the return of Ben Affleck, Jon Bernthal, J K Simmons and Cythia Addai-Robinson. The sequel to Gavin O’Connor's action thriller, the film is set to be backed by Amazon MGM Studio along with Artists Equity.

O'Connor will also return as the director of The Accountant 2, which will have a script penned by Bill Dubuque. This collaboration between Amazon MGM Studios and Artists Equity comes as a fourth after Jennifer Lopez's documentary The Greatest Love Story Never Told, Air, and Unstoppable which is coming up.

Affleck played an extremely talented but autistic certified public accountant, Christian Wolff, who has another life as as a criminal organisations' forensic accountant. He is tasked with tackling a dangerous web of deceit when he discovers discrepancies in a legitimate robotics company.

Bernthal played Brax, Christian's brother and security company operator. Director of the Treasury Department’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, Ray King, was played by Simmons. Addai-Robinson was seen as an up-and-coming Treasury agent, Marybeth Medina, who had to unveil the Accountant's real identity.

In the The Accountant 2, Medina is pulled back into a dangerous world when her ex-boss is murdered. Unable to solve it alone, she reunites with Christian, who uses his brains and bad-boy brother Brax to crack the case. But the closer they get, the more dangerous it becomes, as powerful enemies emerge to silence them for good.

Affleck is producing The Accountant 2 along with Damon under their Artists Equity banner. Lynette Howell Taylor and Mark Williams are co-producing for 51 Entertainment.
