It has been 20 years.

Actors Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis are returning for the sequel of their 2003 hit Freaky Friday.

Lohan, recently attended Andy Cohen’s SiriusXM show where she was asked about the possibility of follow up on the cult hit. Lohan confirmed that there is a sequel on the cards.

The beloved film which was a hit among millennials, celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2023, and fans have been begging to see the mother-daughter duo back onscreen in part two. After years of speculation, Lohan finally confirmed that the sequel was happening.

“I won’t say that yet. I don’t want to say too much. We are both excited. I’m gonna speak for Jamie,” Lohan added.

Based on Mary Rodgers's 1972 novel of the same name, it is the third adaptation of the same story and fifth installment overall in the Freaky Friday franchise. In Freaky Friday, the mother and daughter duo eat a magical Chinese fortune cookie, which results in them switching bodies.

Directed by Mark Waters, the original Freaky Friday featured Lohan and Curtis in the lead alongside Chad Michael Murray and Mark Harmon.
