Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer won awards in the categories 'Outstanding Achievement in Sound Editing – Feature Dialogue / ADR' and 'Outstanding Achievement in Sound Editing – Feature Effects / Foley' at the 71st Motion Picture Sound Editors Golden Reel Awards. This was the first edition of the Motion Picture Sound Editors award ceremony after David Barber was elected as its president.

“What makes this event so special is that we come together from around the world as a sound community to celebrate each other,” Barber said. “We celebrate each other’s artistry and each other’s achievements. MPSE members are an extraordinarily passionate and giving group of sound enthusiasts who exemplify the meaning of ‘community.'”

Richard King served as the Universal Pictures film's supervising sound editor, and David Bach acted as its supervising dialogue editor. On the other hand, Russell Farmarco and Albert Gasser were the dialogue editors for the film. King also contributed to the win in the other category, which also acknowledged the film's sound effects editor Michael Mitchell, supervising foley editor Christopher Flick, and sound designer Randy Torres, as well as foley artists Dan O’Connell and John Cucci.

Oppenheimer is also nominated in 13 Oscar categories, including Best Picture, Best Adapted Screenplay, and Best Director.
