The makers of the upcoming comedy film Between The Temples unveiled the film's trailer on Monday. Directed by Nathan Silver and written by him along with C Mason Wells, the film stars Jason Schwartzman and Carol Kane in lead roles.
The trailer shows Schwartzman as an up-and-coming Jewish priest, called a Cantor. He struggles to fit in and learn until his childhood music teacher re-enters his life. How he discovers himself as a cantor, with the help of his teacher seems to form the rest of the film.
The official synopsis of Between The Temples reads, "A cantor (Jason Schwartzman) in a crisis of faith finds his world turned upside down when his grade school music teacher (Carol Kane) re-enters his life as his new adult Bat Mitzvah student."
Between The Temples also stars Dolly de Leon, Caroline Aaron, Robert Smigel, Madeline Weinstein, Matthew Shear, and Lindsay Burdge among others. The film is backed by Ley Line Entertainment and Fusion Entertainment and distributed by Sony Pictures.
Between The Temples premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year, and will hit theatres on August 23.
